Description

We are looking for an Oil & Gas Tax Senior Associate to serve as a member of our client service team. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax planning, consulting, and compliance related to master limited partnerships, and private equity with respect to upstream oil and gas production.  In addition to the preparation and review of tax returns, the senior associate will assist Managers and Managing Directors in identifying client issues and developing communications for presentation to clients and financial managers.  Candidates applying must demonstrate strong written and oral presentation skills, conduct research on various client issues, and oversee Associates. Additionally, s/he will participate in the professional growth and mentoring of Associates.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree preferred;
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0;
  • Advanced credential allowing for client representation before the Internal Revenue Service preferred (i.e. CPA or MST advanced credential);
  • At least 2 years relevant work experience with an accounting firm or law firm, including partnership tax experience;
  • Familiarity with complexities of Upstream Oil & Gas;
  • Understanding of Subchapter K, complex partnership allocations and other issues pertaining to the Upstream Oil & Gas Industries;
  • Strong leadership, multitasking and organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a natural facilitator;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Proficient use of technology including MS Excel; and
  • Strong attention to detail.
