The Role

At Andersen, we’re growing our Global Mobility practice and searching for ambitious, self-motivated, and experienced professionals. The Global Mobility services team assists with assignment planning and execution including US and foreign tax considerations. 

 

Candidates must be experienced in partnering with corporate clients to deliver cohesive global tax, HR, payroll, equity consulting and compliance services.  

 

Responsibilities: 

Provide best in class service and work closely with Managers, Senior Managers, and leadership to support the success of our corporate clients and their assignees. Specifically:

  • Review tax equalization policies and implement processes;
  • Review assignment letters and agreements for tax language and provide advice to customers regarding best practices;
  • Advise on U.S. payroll reporting (hypothetical tax, equity reporting etc.);
  • Review tax calculations (cost projections, net-pay calculations, individual US income tax returns for international taxpayers), finalize compensation reviews and other ad hoc items;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable authorities while identifying options for minimizing tax and reporting burdens;
  • Provide detailed review of individual tax returns, conduct comprehensive tax research and strategic planning relating to cross-border employees;
  • Proactively maintain regular communication with clients (employees and individuals);
  • Perform comprehensive tax research and planning;
  • Actively supervise Associates and Interns.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university required: Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, International Business, Human Resource Management, or related undergraduate degree. Advanced degree in Accounting or Tax preferred;
  • Minimum 3 years relevant tax experience with a national accounting firm or equivalent Industry experience;
  • Actively pursuing CPA;
  • Mastery of U.S. individual, federal and state income taxation, in addition to bilateral income tax treaties; 
  • Mastery in calculating W-2 income for equity compensation (ESPP, RSU, NQSO, ISO) and proficiency in foreign rules of equity compensation reporting and taxation;
  • Proficiency in fundamental international taxation mechanics;
  • Experience in preparing individual tax returns;
  • Adept at managing client engagements with excellent customer service skills;
  • Organized, keen attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication;
  • Self-starter with the initiative to lead multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast-paced, interactive, collaborative environment;
  • Proficient use of technology including (but not limited to) CCH Axcess or similar tax software, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Must be flexible and able to work overtime to meet deadlines.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

 

Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in New York City, the expected salary range for this role is $74,000 to $137,750; the actual salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications.
