The Role

Managers in our Commercial practice oversee multiple engagements for clients that range from multi-national corporations to early stage starts-ups.

 

Managers can expect to:

  • Serve as primary engagement manager and provide tax compliance and advisory services for our flow-through (pass-through) clients;
  • Engage in business development activities (i.e. prepare proposals; present in webinars, collaborate with other service lines to present a comprehensive tax strategy to prospective and current clients, etc.);
  • Maintain communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, remain current on legislative changes, and lead change effectively;
  • Conduct primary and secondary review of complex tax returns at the federal and state levels – including partnership and S-Corp income tax returns;
  • Provide ASC 740 tax provision support and review;
  • Supervise train, mentor, and evaluate Interns, Associates and Senior Associates; and
  • Receive formal corporate tax training, on the job training, direct feedback from top tax leaders, and the opportunity to pursue additional training through internal and external resources.

Compensation and Benefits

Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in San Francisco, the expected salary range for this role is $110,000 to $209,500; the actual salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications.

We offer paid time off, beginning at 160 hours annually and provides twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Compensation: In addition to competitive base compensation, our firm offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance, a discretionary long-term cash incentive program, and other forms of discretionary compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree preferred;
  • Advanced credential preferred (i.e. CPA, JD, CFP or CFA);
  • At least 4+ years relevant work experience with an accounting firm, including at least 3 years of flow-through experience;
  • Requires experience with one or more of the following: S-Corps, C-Corps, or operating partnerships;
  • Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax provision preparation and compliance in accordance with ASC 740;
  • Advanced knowledge of partnership tax return preparation (form 1065);  
  • Leadership and organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a natural facilitator;
  • Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; and Proficient use of technology including MS Excel.
