The Role

The Client Service Advisor supports the Lead Advisors in all aspects of managing client  relationships. This includes but is not limited to anticipating client needs, portfolio construction, plan preparation, providing operational assistance and collaborating with other team members to seamlessly serve and advise clients

 

Client Service Advisors should expect to work with the advisory team to perform the following:

 

  • Understand a client’s financial situation including their unique goals, time horizon and risk  tolerance
  • Using E-Money, work with lead advisor to prepare comprehensive financial plans. Be able to articulate the planning process, relevant strategies, data inputs, and software outputs; introduce both internal and external resources as necessary
  • Effectively articulate our investment philosophy and investment process
  • Coordinate and collaborate on the systematic preparation of investment recommendations, rebalancing, implementation and reporting on client portfolios
  • Pro-actively schedule pre-meetings and coordinate the preparation of meeting materials
  • Coordinate the preparation of individual tax returns and quarterly estimates; demonstrate proficiency in general tax concepts; proactively explore opportunities and make recommendations for tax planning
  • Onboard new clients in collaboration with operations, portfolio, and planning teams
  • Support operations, marketing and client service, as needed and/or requested
  • Review performance data for accuracy; understand details and concepts within the report
  • Following client meetings, own inputting meeting notes into CRM to ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Maintain CRM data and review for Assist lead advisors in proactively communicating with clients, keep team informed of changes to a client’s situation, needs, or requests
  • Actively participate in team meetings and collaborate with other advisors and teams on best practices, goals, and initiatives for the practice
  • Assist with all clients as needed and/or requested
  • Understand exposure to risk, adhere to firm polices, and work with compliance/COO as necessary
  • Seek ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance technical, interpersonal and business development skills. This may include, but is not limited to attending seminars, internal and external conferences, networking events and participating in webinars and conference calls

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, economics, accounting or business
  • 2+ years of experience, preferably in the wealth management industry
  • General understanding of tax, estate, and financial planning concepts
  • Desire to pursue (or already earned) a professional designation (CFP®, CPWA®, CIMA® preferred)
  • Team player; advanced problem-solving skills; well organized and a strong attention to detail; excellent attitude and client service oriented
  • Ability to think openly about how to solve problems and adapt to new situations
