Senior Associates can expect to:
- Review and prepare complex tax returns;
- Engage in the tax planning and consulting process;
- Collaborate with engagement team to identify and research complex client issues and recommend solutions;
- Draft technical tax memoranda;
- Provide regular updates to clients;
- Assist in project management of compliance and consulting engagements;
- Supervise, train and mentor Associates and Interns; and
- Receive formal PCS and on the job training in daily interactions with top tax leaders to learn more about legislative changes, wealth transfer techniques, charitable giving strategies, buy/sell agreement planning, etc.
As a member of the Private Client Services practice, Tax Directors oversee the efforts of multiple client service teams on engagements for a variety of clients including entrepreneurs, executives, partnerships, closely-held businesses, estates, and trusts. Directors plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; market, design, and implement tax-planning strategies for clients and manage to budget.
Directors conduct secondary review of, and have ultimate responsibility for, complex income tax returns including federal and multi-state filings. Directors maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, ensure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively. Directors are responsible for managing, developing, training, and mentoring Associates and Managers on tax projects, and assessing performance for engagement reviews.
Managers in our Commercial practice oversee multiple engagements for clients that range from multi-national corporations to early stage starts-ups.
Managers can expect to:
- Engage in business development activities (i.e. prepare proposals; present in webinars, collaborate with other service lines to present a comprehensive tax strategy to prospective and current clients, etc.);
- Maintain communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, remain current on legislative changes, and lead change effectively;
- Conduct primary and secondary review of complex tax returns – including federal and state filings;
- Provide ASC 740 tax provision support and review preparation;
- Supervise train, mentor, and evaluate Interns, Associates and Senior Associates; and

- Continue to build their technical knowledge of tax planning, consulting, and compliance, for national and foreign entities through formal and on the job training.
- Consistently work with management to identify and research complex client issues.
- Provide regular updates to clients.
- Assist in project management of compliance and consulting engagements.
- Supervise and participate in the professional development of Associates and Interns; and
- Receive formal tax training related to Alternative Investment Funds, on the job training, direct feedback from top tax leaders, and the opportunity to pursue additional training through internal and external resources.
Managers in our Alternative Investment Funds practice oversee and complete tax projects; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance for a variety of clients, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, fund of funds and venture capital.
