Senior Associates with our Cost Segregation practice serve as members of various client tax planning service teams across industry sectors.   Industries served include hospitality, gaming, sports, entertainment, recreation, retail, restaurant, manufacturing, high-tech, life sciences, commercial and residential rental real estate, telecommunications, private wealth, and finance and banking.   Senior Associates should have a significant understanding of the construction lifecycle, including scheduling, cost ledgers, contractor pay applications, contracts, substantial completion and the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings (blueprints).    A Senior Associate will have opportunities to participate in engineering or depreciation analyses for newly constructed and acquired facilities, fixed asset valuations, insurance valuations, property tax analyses, and purchase price allocations for tax reporting and financial reporting.   Senior Associates can expect to: - Engage in business development activities (e.g., perform market research on companies, assist with preparation of proposals (including benefit estimates of NPV and cash flow), assist with preparing/presenting cost segregation-specific webinars, identify and build meaningful relationships within our organization and in the marketplace); - Participate in client meetings and conduct in person or virtual site visits; - Demonstrate baseline tax research skills through tax authority databases (e.g., RIA Checkpoint, CCH, Bloomberg Tax) to address project issues; - Demonstrate baseline understanding of the Cost Segregation Audit Techniques Guide; - Organize and track project data and prepare supportable, audit-ready files; - Perform full analyses within cost segregation models, including cost estimating (e.g., buildings, plants, individual asset, equipment), indirect cost allocations, and electrical load calculations; - Use MS Excel functions, equations and produce spreadsheet models (e.g., pivot tables, V and H lookup, if/then, sum/if, index, etc.) and write supporting reports using MS Word functions; - Receive training related to the federal and state tax laws, including Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System (“MACRS”) (and state conformity), tangible property regulations, and changes to tax law impacting cost segregation projects (e.g., PATH Act, TCJ Act, CARES Act); - Receive direct feedback from industry leaders and the opportunity to pursue additional training; through internal and external resources; - Supervise, train, mentor and provide feedback on Associates and Interns; and - Travel locally and across the U.S. approximately 30% of the year.

Private Accounting Solutions (PAS) Bookkeepers serve as members of various client service teams. Bookkeepers are responsible for the daily accounting, a variety of accounting reconciliations and monthly, quarterly or annual financial reporting functions. Bookkeepers receive both formal and on-the-job training to hone and develop their technical and analytical skills.
